ON BEHALF OF DREAM CENTER NYC WE ARE GRATEFUL FOR YOUR WILLINGNESS TO SERVE NEW YORKERS WITH US! IN ORDER TO PUT THE HEALTH OF OUR VOLUNTEERS AND COMMUNITY FIRST, WE ARE ESTABLISHING A NUMBER OF SAFETY PRECAUTIONS THAT STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS WILL BE REQUIRED TO FOLLOW.
Not every COVID-19 carrier is symptomatic, and we cannot completely eliminate risk. With that in mind, we have implemented the following safety guidelines to minimize any potential transmission of the novel coronavirus.
Overall guidelines:
Before entering any facilities being utilized by Dream Center NYC each volunteer is required to sign in and fill out the COVID-19 Health Form and be cleared by a volunteer coordinator before entering a Dream Center facility: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1d_GqfAg0EhNpg_r0QYb1TqiKSRECWtQDWqVOiD0nlJ8/edit
All our volunteers confirm that they:
Have not traveled out of the country in the last 14 days
Are not exhibiting any signs of compromised health (e.g. runny nose, cough, fever, shortness of breath etc.)
Have not come in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days
Have been practicing social distancing
There may not be more than 25 people total, including Site Leader, at each station.
Should volunteers touch their face or cough/sneeze into their hands, they should re-sanitize and change gloves.
Site leader will communicate the below sanitization/packing protocol.
Packing Volunteer Protocol (25 at a time max):
All volunteers sanitize their hands and put gloves on
Volunteers will fill boxes of food directly off of stacks of supplies.
Volunteers then place packed boxes in specified location to signal that they are ready for distribution.
Volunteers will wear masks the entire time on site.
Volunteer Site Lead will communicate glove changes every 30 - 45 minutes.
Mobile Food Pantry Volunteer Protocol (20 at a time max):
Volunteers sanitize hands and put gloves on.
Volunteers will wear masks the entire time on site.
Volunteers will change gloves if damaged, ripped, or contaminated in any way.
Volunteers ensure that boxes do not touch ground.
Packing Site Sanitation Protocol:
Each touchpoint surface in the designated packing site and entrance into the site will be sanitized prior to any volunteer engagement.
Each touchpoint surface in the designated packing site and exit will be sanitized after any volunteer engagement.
