PRAYER TOUR GUIDE

Resources and opportunity for our New Neighbors who just recently migrated to the United States.

More than 180,000 individuals have migrated to NYC since Spring of 2022. This has dramatically changed the landscape of New York City. Since the influx of migrants, NYC has struggled to find housing for these families resulting in overbook shelters and many families on the streets. In 2023, a multimillion dollar deal was signed by NYC officials resulting in the transformation of over 15 hotels to become places for families to seek Asylum. Today we stand in the one in Long Island CIty, Queens - right in our backyard, where we get to serve these families. 

 Although shelter and a home are a huge blessing to these families, many of these families are experiencing lack of truly nourishing meals, very intense restrictions, and overcrowding. We launched our New Neighbors program in May of this year with the goal to relive some of these tensions and to love on these families. 

PRAYER POINTS:

  • Over our New Neighbors Program: That we would continue to get donations that truly serve these families needs (hygiene items, snacks, and more).

  • Job opportunities and flourishing within the families we get to serve. That they would be able find places to work to provide for their families.

  • The children: That their adjustment to the United States would be easy and that they will be able to connect with other children in a way that is healthy for them.

Local business partnerships

Long Island City (LIC), a neighborhood in Queens, New York City, has over 6,600 businesses and more than 106,000 employees. LIC is a major Central Business District (CBD) in the city and is known for its economic activity. The neighborhood has a variety of businesses, including:

  • Over 225 food and drink options

  • More than 50 shopping destinations, 90% of which are locally owned

  • Over 40 health and fitness options

We believe God has placed us here to take advantage of being surrounded by so many potential partnerships. When we look at these businesses, we see opportunity for investing into serving our neighbors.

PRAYER POINTS:

  • For doors to be opened wide to share about the work of Dream Center NYC but also for businesses to see value in investing.

  • Wisdom on the right doors to knock on and offer partnership.

  • For our local business to come to know Jesus so that LIC may look more like heave some day.


Provision and sustainability for Dream Center NYC

PRAYER POINTS:

  • An increase in funding so that Dream Center won’t only just survive, but expand to serve people in the way that God desires. 

  • That this facility would continue to be a place where we are able to minister to New York City

  • For our partners Cru Inner City (upstairs) and that God would continue to grow and bless their ministry.
